The cave which found at around 38 Km S.W of Dira dawa city is discover in 1933 by French priest father Azais and oncieu de chap pardon the rock painting and the stone industry it contain has been the subject of interest for many researcher the rock shelter is situated in the side of lime stone hill and subdivided in to two floor, the upper floor probably doesn’t surpass 60M in length, 3m in height and 4M in depth whereas the lower one being substantially shorter attaining only 2m in height. The number of rock painting in the shelter is about 600 provided the numerous (250 to 350 specimens) oval representations are reckoned as one painting respectively. The rock shelter in addition contains, many indefinable color trace which could not be examined closed in view of the short time disposable .There are two main differences between the upper floor and lower floor. firstly The picture concentrate in the middle of the upper ‘’floor ’’ ceiling with size of 60×80cm and to while the lower floor has contain miniature ranging from postage stamp to10×30 cms.Secondly On the upper floor the cattle, sheep goat and oval representation in red ,white and black predominately  whereas the lower ‘’floor’’  practically all the h-shaped man representation and sun-like symbols are concentrated, the oval  form seeming to be entirely absent this indicates thematic difference between the upper and lower floor.
Two caves namely Goda-okotae and Goda-Buttu found close to the cave and need further investigation and study. Here are some feedback given by some visitor on Laga.Oda prehistoric cave and local community of Dire Dawa administration.
